Baby Update!!

Hey y’all! We are on a month or so countdown now! Sometime around late Feb things gonna be gettin crasee! Just a couple of updates to answer some question I have been getting. We don’t know if we are having a boy or girl and don’t much care as long as it has all the required (and healthy) bits included! Hannah is fantastic and still working out, kickboxing (with obvious limitations), rock climbing, as well as doing more yoga these days. I am planning on teaching the same schedule until around June or so. When she goes back to work I am going to be the primary care dude during the day, so we shall see how much of my present schedule I can stick to! I want to teach as much as I can still. We shall see! Might be that I am teaching with a sleepy little munchkin napping in the corner. For those of you that have been asking about registry stuff, we are registered at two places.

BuyBuyBaby.com -registry is under Hannah Floyd or Matt Borer
Amazon.com – look for the “Baby” tab, go to registry and type in Hannah Floyd

Getting so excited to meet our new little person! It was fun to realize that this last holiday season would be THE last one where our family unit is only a twosome! Crazy.

IN OTHER NEWS: I have a ton of workshops and music gigs coming up that will be updated on this site! Very excited to be going into the studio to record with the great Radney Foster soon! Hope this finds everyone fantastic. Take care and treat each other well!

MORE Intro to Ashtanga Yoga with Matt Borer
The Hatha yoga practice known as Ashtanga, is a set sequence of asanas practiced in the same order using the coordination of breath and movement (vinyasa). It is considered the origin of vinyasa or flow styles of yoga. The constant movement and particular style of breathing (ujjayi) WILL create a certain amount of internal heating in the body and thus a self heated cleansing practice! This classical system of yoga has been passed down to us from Sri T. Krishnamacharya and the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009).
In this workshop we will explore the unique and challenging Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga. There will be plenty of explanation concerning history, philosophy, and theory behind this practice as well as moving through the sequence of asana.

A Vinyasa Yoga Primer with Matt
Date: Sat 8/27/2011
Time: 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM

Vinyasa yoga is the art of intimately linking breath and movement during a flowing asana practice! This style of practice creates almost a moving rhythmic dance as well as generating heat and energy. In this workshop we will spend some time learning and practicing extremely useful concepts such as bandha (energetic locks), pranayama (breathwork), and dristi (focal point) to draw as much from the practice as we can. We will then move through a powerful sequence of postures using this information and make our way to a guided relaxation (savasana). Come prepared to work, quite possibly sweat, and move around to some fun music! Hope to see you there! Cost is $25 before 8/27, $30 after.
