Through yoga I discovered how to be honest and true to myself on the mat and easily applied those principles to all aspects of my life... Affecting the most complex and even the most minute details of my life...yoga brought peace to my mind to live life confidently, honestly and compassionately and this in return has nourished my yoga practice even more! A great liberating cycle if ya ask me :) anyways have rockin time with hannah rock climbing next week...!! Safe and joyious travels!

I was born and raised in New Delhi, India. I am not a vegetarian, but do not eat beef. I never had a sip of alcoholic drink in my life . But I completely agree with you about practicing with "meat brick in the stomach". I have a very active life with a full time job and 2 little kids. I practice regularly even if it is an Ashtanga Star practice :) Portion control and a lot of veggies in the diet works for me. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I know exactly what you mean. I've been a vegetarian most of my life, but I find myself consciously making decisions about what I'm going to eat (less heavy foods, less sugar, etc), whether or not to drink, what time to go to sleep, etc, all based on Ashtanga. I'd never thought about it the way your brother put it, but that's really interesting. Rather, I've just seen it as yoga causing me to better my life in so many areas!
